Poetry

Anne Marie Wells (she | they) is an award-winning queer poet, playwright, and storyteller navigating the world with a chronic illness.

She is a faculty member of the Community Literature Initiative, Strategic Partnership Fellow for The Poetry Lab, and Nonprofit manager for The Adroit Journal. She has received support from Capital Storytelling, the Wyoming Arts Council, and Brooklyn Poets. She was the 2021 Crow House Press Poetry Contest winner and earned the 2021 Peter K. Hixson award in poetry. She was a finalist for the 2022 Emma Howell Rising Poet Award and winner of the inaugural Wanderlust Travel Book contest. She was a 2021 Wyoming Woman of Influence nominee in the arts category for amplifying the voices of the LGBTQ and disabled communities through her writing. Her poetry and prose has appeared in Ninth Letter, Platform Review, The Round Magazine, Brain Mill Press, and others.
